How does it work....

How does it work ?

Your practice will contact me and generally provide the details, and any X-Rays. I will take a look, and offer advice if that is all that is needed.

If your the pet looks to need surgery, then we arrange a suitable date, I come into the practice with all of my kit, and items such as the drapes and gowns that we need to perform the operation.

If it is not possible to see the owner at the time, I can speak to you on the phone, or even using video calling, and run through the nature of the problem, and then the actual surgery and the directions for care.

Afterwards, I will provide a written care plan for you, and as long as the technology doesn’t trip me up, a picture showing the result.

How much might it cost ?

I have always wanted to charge a fair price for a job well done. That is no different now.

I have to work with practices so I am not in charge of how much the costs of anaesthesia, nursing and radiography might be. There is also the aftercare.
I will always aim to make a procedure possible and will always take each case on its merits and be as flexible as I can be.

What about the local team ?

I think that part of the appeal of this sort of work is that the vets and the nurses can be involved in the care of they patient and they are not at arms’ length.

I like to work with different teams. It might be a challenge somedays but most of the practices that I now visit are used to how I work and I am used to them.

I always hope that when I come in, we can all learn from each other, and I don’t think we ever stop learning new tricks.
